Rain chances pick up again this weekend. Total rainfall through Tuesday will vary from an inch or less in most of southern Illinois, to 2 inches along the Ohio River and most of western Kentucky.
Counties along the Tennessee border could see around 3 inches or locally higher amounts in places. The most rain for the weekend will tend to be in the Ozarks of southeast Missouri.
The potential for strong to severe storms this weekend into early next week does not look as concerning, with the risk focus shifting further south and west of us with time.
High temperatures will be about 10 degrees below normal this weekend and Monday in the mid 60s to around 70, trending warmer into the mid-upper 70s by the back half of next week.
