Caldwell Fiscal Court remembers late jailer Willie Harper

During its meeting this week, Caldwell Fiscal Court took time to remember Caldwell County Jailer Willie Harper who recently passed away.

WPKY reported court members spoke fondly of Harper who was noted for his dedication, financial stewardship and his ever present smile.  Harper died last week after being diagnoed with pancreatic cancer .  He was in his fist term as jailer.

Judge Executive Kota Young stated Caldwell County Sheriff Don Weedman will also serve as jailer until he appoints a replacement for Harper.  The jailer's race will be part of the 2026 genera election.
