Gov. Beshear announced Wednesday that the Trump administration has approved individual assistance for 24 additional Kentucky counties impacted by the widespread flooding that took place in April.

That latest round for approval includes Calloway County. That means a FEMA disaster relief center will soon be set up in the county.

Thirteen counties had already been approved on April 25 for individual assistance, including McCracken County. A FEMA disaster relief center was set up at 3700 Coleman Road at the McCracken County Emergency Management training room.

Officials say residents and business owners who experienced losses in the designated counties can begin applying for assistance at DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling the Federal Emergency Management Agency at 800-621-FEMA (3362) or by using the FEMA App.

The governor said Wednesday they will continue to request more counties be added to the list for individual assistance.

The other 23 counties in Wednesday's round approved also include Breckenridge, Bullitt, Daviess, Garrard, Grayson, Hancock, Hart, Henderson, Henry, Jefferson, LaRue, Lincoln, McLean, Meade, Muhlenberg, Nelson, Ohio, Oldham, Pendleton, Powell, Trimble, Warren and Webster.

The April round of approved counties included Anderson, Butler, Carroll, Christian, Clark, Franklin, Hardin, Hopkins, Jessamine, Mercer, Owen and Woodford.
