A Calvert City man is facing charges after two seperate incidents on Saturday.

Calvert City Police said that an officer witnessed a person he believed to be under the influence at the FiveStar location at US 62 and Oak Park Boulevard just before 12:30 a.m. Saturday. The officer arrested 39-year-old Kenneth Lloyd Clouse of Calvert City and charged him with public intoxication by controlled substances excluding alcohol, possession of a controlled substance, and having a prescription-controlled substance not in a proper container.

Then, just after 10 p.m. Saturday, Calvert City Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on South Main Street, where they found a heavily damaged vehicle on its side in the roadway. Officers found the driver, Clouse, outside the vehicle leaning against a nearby tree. Clouse was reportedly injured in the crash and taken to Marshall County Hospital for treatment.

Officers said they found what was described as multiple drugs and drug paraphernalia at the scene of the crash. Clouse will face additional charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and tampering with physical evidence.
