Sunday evening's intense squall line of severe storms produced at least two small tornadoes in southeast Missouri, according to surveys by the National Weather Service.

The first tornado occurred at 6:19 p.m. near Sedgewickville, 24 miles northwest of Cape Girardeau. It was estimated to be an EF1 intensity storm with peak winds of 105 miles per hour. It was on the ground for 8 minutes and nearly 8 miles, with a path about 100 yards wide.

Several outbuildings or barns suffered some degree of damage, ranging from the roof blown off to one that was completely destroyed. Trees were uprooted and a livestock trailer was flipped over.

The second tornado was along the same line as the first, about five miles further east. It touched down just east of I-55 for less than a minute and traveled half a mile with a path 50 yards wide. Estimated EF1 winds of 97 mph caused roof damage to a couple of mbile homes and shifted one off its foundation.
