Severe thunderstorm watch until 9PM

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued until 9 p.m. for all of western Kentucky and southern Illinois.

Severe storms are already in progress in southeast Missouri.

Scattered thunderstorms are forecast to develop across southern Missouri by midday into the early afternoon. These are forecast to move across portions of southeast Missouri and into western Kentucky -- possibly far southern Illinois -- this afternoon and early evening. 

The environment will support large hail, and in some cases golf ball sized or larger. Damaging winds are a concern as well. Timing is primarily between 1 and 7 PM today.
