Child hospitalized after being shot Monday night

A child is hospitalized after being shot Monday night in Hopkinsville.

WKDZ reported Hopkinsville Police as saying they were called to East 9th Street around 8:25 pm after receiving a report a very young child had a gunshot wound to the head.

The child was first taken to Jennie Stuart Health then flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.  Police are still looking into the shooting to determine if it were accidential or foul play was involved.
