Christian County man killed in Thursday traffic accident

A Christian County man is dead following a Thursday afternoon traffic accident.

The Christian County Sheriff's Office said the mishap occured on Butler Road around 5:15 pm when a southbound truck driven by 78-year-old Michael Blane of Hopklinsville ran off the roadway near Gospel Peace Road for an unknown reason.

The truck hit an emankment, flipping multiple times and ejecting Blane in the process. Life saving procedures were done at the scene but were not successful.

The investigation is continuing.
