Judge-Executive Craig Clymer has won the Republican nomination to retain his office in McCracken County.
The two-term Judge-Executive won the race in a crowded field that included 2nd District Commissioner Richard Abraham and Paducah businessman Matt Moore. Clymer is seeking a third term. Moore trailed Clymer by about 1,200 votes, with Abraham just over 500 votes further back.
The campaign focused on improvements to McCracken County’s finances, as well as the construction of the sports park, which is set to open this weekend, and the upgrade of the 911 system. Clymer said he wanted to continue his work and see the developments coming to the DOE site and other locations in the county come to fruition.
Clymer will face an Independent challenge from Paducah Mayor George Bray in November.
