Cooler temps, 1 to 3 inches of rain possible over the next week

Rain chances have finally returned to regional forecasts for the next week, with hopes that it can curb deepening drought conditions.

Rain chances rise to 50 percent Saturday night and Sunday; 60 percent Sunday night and 70 percent on Monday. More showers are still possible through Friday.

Rain chances will increase in the days ahead, peaking Monday through Wednesday. As it looks right now, widespread rainfall amounts of 2-3" are looking like a good bet. Could even be some higher amounts over 3".
