The suspect in a double homicide that took place in northeastern Kentucky was arrested in Paducah on Friday.

Troopers said Rowan County deputies discovered the bodies of two victims in a home in Morehead just after 9 a.m. on Friday.

The victims are 37-year-old Kayla Blake and her 13-year-old daughter, Kennedi McWhorter.

Rowan County investigators asked Kentucky State Police to investigate the double homicide.

KSP detectives said they identified 44-year-old Joshua Cottrell of Morehead as the suspect in the homicides.

Around 1 p.m., troopers arrested Cottrell at a Paducah hospital.

Cottrell is charged with two counts of murder and one count of tampering with physical evidence. He is lodged at the McCracken County Jail.
