An Eddyville man was arrested Wednesday night after fleeing from a traffic stop.

A Lyon County Sheriff’s deputy tried to stop a pickup just before 8 p.m. Wednesday after clocking it at a reported 25mph over the speed limit. The truck, driven by 18-year-old Beau D. Hocum-Demello of Eddyville, was said to be traveling along US 62 at 80mph in a 55mph zone. The driver fled from the deputy along US 62 headed toward I-69, before turning onto Calhoun Road. That is where the deputy caught up with him.

Hocum-Demello was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, speeding 25 mph over the limit, and careless driving. He was booked into the Crittenden County Detention Center.
