Hilbrecht wins Republican nomination for Marshall County Sheriff, Howell takes nomination for Jailer

In Marshall County, Sheriff Matt Hilbrecht took the first step to re-election with a win in the Republican primary.

Hilbrecht garnered 66% of the just over 4,000 votes cast. He defeated Doug Jordan by 1,309 votes.

In the hotly contested Jailer’s race in Marshall County, Barry Howell has won the Republican nomination by a scant 34 votes over Robert Johnson. Brian Cannon was another 187 votes behind in third.

In other contested races in Marshall County, Coroner Kenny Pratt won the Republican nomination for re-election to his post over Meagan O’Bryan. Incumbent Commissioners Eddie McGuire and Marty Barrett each claimed Republican nominations for their County Commission seats.
