Human remains located at Broyles Avenue property

Human remains were located on Thursday at a property on Broyles Avenue in the Hendron community.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office said that they have been investigating the possibility of remains there for several months. Detectives finally made the discovery on Thursday afternoon.

They said the property is being treated as a crime scene, but that there is no threat to the community.

The cause of death of that individual is unknown. Detectives are bringing in a forensic anthropology team to recover those remains prior to an autopsy.

The case is still under investigation, and while the location has sparked speculation among some in the community, detectives offered few details. They said more facts will be released at a later date.
