I-24 Ohio River Bridge OPEN after being struck by barge

The I-24 Ohio River Bridge is back open this morning after being struck by a barge overnight.

A barge reportedly struck the bridge in heavy fog along the river. Authorities on both sides of the river quickly closed the bridge after the strike and called in transportation officials to inspect the bridge to determine any damage and whether the span was safe for traffic.

Fortunately, the bridge was inspected and is safe. It is back open this morning after being closed for a little more than two hours.
