A juvenile was taken into custody Thursday morning after a pair of reported car thefts in the overnight hours.
The Graves County Sheriff's Office said around 8 am they located an abandoned pickup on Herman Road in eastern Graves County.
The vehicle had been reported stolen overnight to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office. It had been stolen from a location on the south side of Paducah.
The suspect was identified and located in the area of Maple Avenue in Mayfield later in the morning. The suspect fled from deputies on foot.
After an extensive search of the area by both sheriff’s deputies and Mayfield Police, the suspect was apprehended.
The juvenile was charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, and fleeing or evading.
The juvenile was later implicated in another overnight vehicle theft that occurred in Mayfield and was found to be in possession of keys belonging to the second stolen vehicle. It was recovered by Mayfield Police.
The juvenile was subsequently charged additionally with that theft.
