A Mayfield woman was arrested following a disturbance at a home on South 5th Street and an assault on a firefighter.

Mayfield Police were called after the woman allegedly caused some property damage as part of the incident. The woman, however, walked away toward Paris Road before police arrived. Officers found her walking along South Paris Road, but as they approached, the woman, later identified as 38-year-old Gina Stubblefield of Mayfield, fled.

A struggle ensued once the officer caught up to her, but she was arrested. Stubblefield reportedly showed signs of impairment from something other than alcohol. Mayfield Fire and EMS tried to get Stubblefield onto a stretcher for a trip to Jackson Purchase Medical Center because of her level of intoxication. She is said to have resisted, even kicking a firefighter in the face. He suffered only minor injuries.

Once Stubblefield was medically cleared, she was taken to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center and charged with assault, disorderly conduct, fleeing or evading police, and public intoxication.
