Two Livingston County suspects were arrested Thursday during a traffic stop in Paducah.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said drug detectives received information alleging that 41-year-old Justin Metcalf of Smithland, wanted on multiple outstanding warrants out of Livingston County, would be traveling from Brookport, IL to Paducah.

The warrants were related to charges of attempting to induce a minor to engage in sexual activity, and failing to appear in court for a pending assault case.

Detectives observed Metcalf crossing into Kentucky from Illinois in a vehicle traveling on North 8th Street. Detectives initiated a traffic stop, but Metcalf fled on foot. Detectives apprehended Metcalf after a short chase.

A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 37-year-old Jamie Metcalf also of Smithland, was also taken into custody on an outstanding Livingston County warrant for failure to appear.

During a search of the vehicle, detectives located a quantity of methamphetamine.

Both suspects were lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
