WKDZ reports that according to an arrest citation issued by Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, 49-year-old Scotty Owens was operating a boat when the family member got out to secure a jet ski that was loose. The report said she was injured by the boat propeller while trying to get back into the boat.
The woman was first taken to Trigg County Hospital and later transferred to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville for further treatment.
The citation states that Scotty Owens showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested by law enforcement.
