The McCracken County Sheriff’s office arrested a McCracken County man Tuesday night as part of an ongoing investigation into multiple thefts throughout the county.

Over the past month, detectives have been investigating numerous thefts involving ATVs, UTVs, motor vehicles, and other property that were stolen. During the investigation, detectives identified 55-year-old John Hale as a suspect in several of the thefts.

Detectives also determined Hale was involved in the sale of methamphetamine. As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives conducted multiple controlled purchases of meth from Hale.

On Tuesday, detectives searched Hale’s residence on Husbands Road. They located a quantity of meth and evidence pertaining to the theft investigations. While the search warrant was being executed, Hale was arrested nearby during a traffic stop.

Detectives also searched a home on Vasseur Avenue, a location where stolen property had been stored. Detectives continue to search for William Bridges, who resides at that address and is currently wanted for parole violation. (See previous story.)

Hale was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail on drug trafficking charges. Additional charges related to the thefts will also be filed. Detectives anticipate additional arrests as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information related to the stolen property or the whereabouts of William Bridges is encouraged to contact the McCracken County Sheriff's office or McCracken County Crime Stoppers.
