More workforce development dollars are coming to Paducah, along with other parts of the Commonwealth.
The Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, through the Bluegrass State Skills Corporation, will spend $1.8 million already allocated for workforce development to help nearly 2,300 Kentuckians receive industry-specific training. 360 of those individuals are employees at James Marine in Paducah.
Governor Andy Beshear said, "Making sure Kentucky's talented workforce has the tools and resources needed to continue developing and growing is key to maintaining our economic momentum and supporting our people.” He added, “We are committed to investing in the people who make the commonwealth a better place to live and do business."
In addition to Paducah, employees of companies in Louisville, Walton, New Haven, Silver Grove, and Independence will get training via this funding.
