Two out-of-state teens were arrested after reportedly pointing a gun at a Graves County residence, then fleeing from police.

Graves County deputies posted that Kentucky State Police received a call from the home off KY 303 south of Mayfield. The caller said there was a male on her property and he was pointing a firearm in her window.

The female caller also said she met the male over social media, and he then showed up at her house.

When deputies arrived, they found two males in a vehicle in the driveway of the home. As the driver stepped out of the car, the passenger moved to the driver’s seat and fled in the vehicle on KY 303.

The original driver detained at the scene was identified as 18-year-old Jayen T. Ayers of Milan, TN.

Pursuit was joined by Graves County deputies and Mayfield police officers onto KY 339 briefly before returning to KY 303, KY 94 and KY 83 where police performed a PIT maneuver on the vehicle.  As the male driver was exiting the vehicle, Chief Deputy Jeremy Prince arrived to assist.  The second male fled on foot but was quickly captured.  He was identified as 19-year-old Dequavion Q. Yarbrough, 19 of Humbolt, TN.

During a search of the vehicle, a handgun, marijuana and synthetic drugs were located.  A check of the serial number on the handgun showed it was reported stolen to the Union City, TN Police Department.

Yarbrough admitted the handgun was his and that had he used marijuana and other drugs a few hours before the pursuit.  He also stated that he and Ayers drove to the location in Graves County from Tennessee to meet a female he met on social media. He admitted that the female had told them to leave via Facetime, but they stayed on the property.

Ayers was charged with criminal trespassing.

Yarbrough was charged with fleeing/evading police in a motor vehicle and on foot, wanton endangerment, receiving stolen property, DUI, criminal mischief, criminal trespass, and possesion of drugs.
