A Paducah woman was arrested on Saturday in Metropolis after she was found passed out in a vehicle that was running and in gear.

Metropolis Police were called to the area of Quizno's off US 45 in the Acee's Truck Stop after bystanders saw a woman asleep in her car, which was running and in reverse with her foot on the brake. They said she also had a lit cigarette in her mouth that was ashing on her leg. It took officers several tries to get the woman, later identified as 26-year-old Hannah L. Walker of Paducah, to come to and when she did, she put the car in drive. Officers finally got her to place the car in park.

Officers said they believed Walker was under the influence of drugs. A search of her car reportedly turned up a baggie of methamphetamine, which Walker is said to have admitted was hers.  Police determined that Walker's license was suspended and she was unable to provide proof of insurance.

Walker was charged with possession of methamphetamine, driving on a suspended license, and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. The vehicle was towed, but Walker was released on a notice to appear.
