A report of a missing vehicle landed two people in jail on completely unrelated charges.
A McCracken County Sheriff's deputy was called to Key Drive at about 10:30 a.m. Friday after a vehicle was reported missing. The deputy spoke to 46-year-old Christopher Walker and he reportedly had a warrant for his arrest. The deputy arrested him and took him to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
After a discussion with Walker at the jail, deputies discovered that another wanted individual was back at the Key Drive location. Deputies returned and went into the apartment. They found 39-year-old Sarah Mallory inside hiding in the bathroom. They also reportedly spotted a tray with what turned out to be methamphetamine on it. Mallory is also said to have admitted to having meth on her person, which deputies located. She was arrested, as well.
Walker was charged with violation of an Emergency Protective Order/Domestic Violence Order. Mallory was charged with possession of methamphetamine, probation violation for a felony offense, and a warrant for failure to appear.
No word on the missing vehicle.
