Robbery report lands Metropolis man in jail

A robbery report in Massac County landed a Metropolis man in jail.

Metropolis Police were called to a home on 8th Street after the victims said a man came into the home and allegedly stole two cell phones before causing some property damage. The man was identified by the victims as 63-year-old Ray G. Lee of Metropolis. They told officers that Lee also pushed the people to the ground; one of them fell into a fence.

Lee was arrested and charged with robbery, criminal damage to property, criminal trespass, and battery.

Lee reportedly told officers he went to the home to buy crack cocaine.
