Saturday fire destroys vacant Lyon farmhouse

A fire on Saturday morning in Lyon County destroyed a vacant farmhouse.

WKDZ said that firefighters from the Kuttawa Volunteer Fire Department and the Lyon County Fire District were called to the 400 block of Seldon Mitchell Road just after 10 a.m. They were able to put the fire out, but not before the building was an apparent total loss. The fire was believed to be electrical in nature.

Reports are that the owners of the former farmhouse were utilizing it as storage.
