Emergency responders in Marshall County battled a semi truck fire on Tuesday after the truck overturned.
Marshall County Emergency Management reported their staff along with Calvert City Fire Department, Possum Trot Fire Department, Calvert City Police, and the Marshall County Sheriff's Office responded for a semi truck with a dump trailer that turned over while unloading and caught fire. The driver was able to exit without injuries.
They said the semi had about 50 gallons of diesel on board and authorities made the decision to let the diesel burn out since the vehicle was already destroyed.
They also reported the spill was about 200 yards from Tennessee River but nothing went that way as it was all contained on the business property.
