According to WPKY, the approved funding includes nine beginning farmer loans which totals more than $1.8 million, with Caldwell County among the recipients approved for $250,000.
The Beginning Farmer Loan Program is designed to help those with some farming experience that wish to develop, expand, or buy into a farming operation.
Beginning farmers may qualify for financing to purchase livestock, equipment, agricultural facilities, farm real estate, secure permanent working capital, or invest in a partnership or limited liability company.
