A Tuesday traffic accident leaves several teenagers injuried and the driver charged.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office said they were dispatched to the 20 mile marker of Interstate 69 for a single vehicle collision.

Investigators said 18-year-old Tyler Sharp of Paducah was traveling northbound on I-69 when he left the roadway and entered the median.

Once in the median, Sharp over-corrected to the right, re-entering the roadway. Sharp then struck a guard rail on the right shoulder of the roadway and came to final rest in the center of both lanes.

After further investigation, it was found that there were seven occupants in the vehicle and only five seatbelts for those occupants. Only two occupants were found to be wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.

The five not wearing seatbelts were treated for minor injuries.  Sharp was cited for numerous traffic offenses.
