I-24 multi-car crash slows traffic crossing Ohio River Bridge

A crash involving several vehicles jammed up traffic and caused delays near the Ohio River Bridge on Wednesday afternoon.

The westbound crash just after 4 p.m.involved at least three vehicles. Witness told West Kentucky Star that a cargo van sideswiped a semi before crashing into the back of a car. The car, reportedly occupied by a family from Sparta, Illinois, headed home from vacation, is said to have spun several times before coming to rest facing the opposite direction.

Traffic on the westbound side was backed up all the way to Hinkleville Road Exit 4, while eastbound traffic backed up to Metropolis.
