300-foot-tall water tower to be demolished today at Paducah DOE site

The US Department of Energy said Thursday they will demolish the nearly 300-foot-tall water tower at the DOE Paducah site today.

The demolition will be done some time this afternoon by the controlled use of explosives.

Due to the safety and security measures in place Friday, access to the site will be limited to essential personnel only. They said site neighbors and emergency response organizations have been notified.
