A man accused of trying to break out the windows of a Graves County school bus full of students is facing a long list of charges.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office said they were called Thursday afternoon to the intersection of KY 94 and KY 129 in the Pilot Oak area.

Deputies said the school bus had stopped at the intersection when 41-year-old Andrew D. Bruner reportedly went up to the bus and began hitting the windows, trying to break them. Witnesses told investigators that Bruner broke off the driver-side mirror on the bus.

Investigators said 29 students, a driver and a bus monitor were on board. No injuries were reported.

The bus driver immediately drove away, but Bruner reportedly caused damage to at least two other vehicles as they passed by.

The sheriff’s office said Bruner left the area before deputies arrived and went to a home on KY 129 and attempted to get into the home by trying to break out a window.

When deputies arrived at the home, they reported Bruner was in the yard yelling and appeared to be under the influence of some sort of drug.

He was taken into custody, but deputies report Bruner tried to escape from a sheriff’s cruiser and was subdued.

Bruner was taken to a local hospital. Once he is medically cleared, the sheriff’s office said Bruner will be taken to an out-of-county detention facility.

Bruner is charged with 31 counts of wanton endangerment and menacing. He is also charged with criminal mischief, resisting arrest, burglary, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
