The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says they received numerous calls about their investigation of Gabriel McGill, who was arrested after being identified from surveillance video. McGill was allegedly naked and carrying what detectives now say was a meat cleaver.
The investigation led officers to another home in the same area on the day of McGill's arrest. The resident showed blood that was found on their vehicle and signs that someone may have attempted to get in the home. An item from the vehicle was also reportedly found in another home.
Other calls from the Cottonwood neighborhood related to a man knocking on doors during early morning hours and a truck that was spotted in the area on June 3. Detectives determined that the actions of those people were unrelated to incidents involving McGill. The man knocking on doors was trying to find someone whom he believed was living in that area.
After these investigations, McGill was charged Friday with an additional count of attempted burglary 1st degree.
