Murray woman airlifted after collision in Calloway County

A Murray woman was seriously injured Tuesday morning in a collision in Calloway County.

Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies responded at 8 a.m. to the intersection of Highway 80 and Kirksey Road.

Investigators said 29-year-old Ashley Massengill stopped at a stop sign, then entered the intersection and into the path of a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old from Mayfield.

Massengill was trapped inside her vehicle and had to be freed by emergency crews. She was taken to Murray-Calloway County Hospital and later airlifted to a regional trauma center for further treatment.
