The Marshall County Sheriff's Office has made another arrest in its ongoing investigation of potentially deadly Xanax pills circulating in the community.

Deputies were dispatched Wednesday morning to a local business in reference to a possible drug overdose. Deputies said the victim's symptoms appeared to be similar to the victims from overdoses at Kentucky Dam Marina on Sunday.

Detectives responded to the hospital and determined that the victim had taken Fentanyl-laced Xanax pills. Detectives contacted the Graves County Sheriff’s Office to continue the investigation and recovered five additional Xanax pills suspected to also contain Fentanyl.

Detectives then obtained and executed a search warrant in Marshall County. During the search, detectives reportedly recovered anabolic steroids, edible marijuana “gummies” and legend drugs.

Detectives arrested 21-year-old Nathaniel Erickson, of Benton, and transported him to the Marshall County Jail. Erickson is charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking in more than 10 grams of Carfentanil or Fentanyl derivatives, possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of anabolic steroids and two counts of illegal possession of a legend drug.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office was assisted in the continuing investigation by the Graves County Sheriff’s Office and the DEA Office in Paducah. Detectives say more charges and defendants are possible.

Anyone with information related to this investigation and/or any information related to the trafficking of illegal drugs, is asked to contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office at (270) 527-1333.
