According to Hickman County Circuit Court Clerk Cinda Yates, the assault case against Ballentine was dismissed on Tuesday at the request of Carlisle County Attorney Mike Hogancamp. Hogancamp had been appointed as a special prosecutor in the case due to a conflict of interest.
Attempts to reach Hogancamp for comment have not been successful.
