Benton Fire Chief Harry Green says his agency was called to the home on Allen Heights Road about 11 pm. He said when they arrived the house was fully engulfed in flames.
Green said the owner was not at home at the time of the fire, and no firefighters were injured as they extinguished the blaze. Crews were able to leave the scene about 1 am.
Green said the house was a total loss, and the fire was likely caused by an overloaded electrical circuit. He said the owner was doing some remodeling and had several space heaters in use.
