On Friday, Marshall County Sheriff's deputies responded to a crash with injuries on US 68 East. According to police, 23-year-old Danielle Keesee of Hardin was traveling west passing several other cars, including a vehicle driven by 50-year-old James Ritter of Benton who was preparing to turn into Fast Eddie's Gas Station.
Keesee sideswiped Ritter's vehicle, lost control and struck some gas pumps. Police said 77-year-old William Stull of Benton was using a fuel pump at the time of the crash, and was burned when the fuel caught fire.
An investigation reportedly revealed Keesee was passing in a no passing zone at the time of the collision.
The owner of Fast Eddie's quickly hit the emergency shut off button for the fuel pumps and was able to extinguish the flames.
Stull was flown from the scene due to his injuries. No one else was hurt in the crash.
