Chair of the Purchase ADD, Arthur Boykin said, “Jeremy has been extremely dedicated to the region. The Board of Directors and I look forward to working with him in this new capacity.”
Buchanan assumed the role Monday, following the retirement of existing Executive Director, Jennifer Beck Walker.
“I’m extremely humbled to have the opportunity to lead this great organization and excited to resume my work with the Board and Staff of the Purchase ADD in moving our region forward,” says Buchanan.
Buchanan has previously served at PADD as Project Development Specialist and Public Administration Specialist. In July 2018, Mr. Buchanan accepted the position of Planning Manager with City of Murray where he has most recently served as the Director of Planning.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and Masters of Public Administration from Murray State University. Buchanon also has experience with several funding programs and has served on various boards, councils, and committees throughout the region.
Buchanon lives in Carlisle County with his wife Jessica and three children, Connor, Carson, and Kennedy. He is active in the community, mostly involved with his church, First Baptist of Barlow.
The Purchase Area Development District is the statutory regional planning and development organization for west Kentucky's eight county Purchase region, which includes Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Marshall and McCracken counties.
