This grant has enabled over 1200 children in three school years and 11 counties to learn new languages. MSU’s Global Language Department and their language students taught the club’s classes. Currently, Spanish and French classes are taught at Mayfield Middle school, Hendron Elementary and Reidland Elementary through a 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant. Spanish Clubs also meet at Southwest, North and East Elementary in Calloway County, with parents paying for the program.
CFSB will work with StarBright Language Centers on a concerted effort to bring a Spanish club to HeadStart in Murray at Alexander Hall and to HeadStart in Paducah at Scholar House. StarBright is looking to expand into Graves and Marshall Counties with the program. For more information, visit pathosinc.org.
