A Cadiz woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon, after police say she ran into a parked van and other objects with her car while under the influence of prescription drugs.

At around 3:26 p.m. Wednesday, Officer Randy Clark arrested 51-year-old Julie C. Coleman, of 254 Anna Street and charged her with DUI - 2nd Offense; Leaving the Scene of an Accident; and Failure to Maintain Insurance.

The Cadiz Police Department received a report of a vehicle that struck a parked car on Cunningham Avenue.  Further investigation revealed that Coleman struck a tree with the passenger side of her vehicle at the intersection of Anna Street and Cunningham Avenue. According to police, she then proceeded north on Cunningham Avenue and struck a mailbox and then a parked van that was unoccupied.

It was determined Coleman was under the influence of prescription medication and could not complete a field sobriety test.  She was taken to Trigg County Hospital for a blood sample that was then forwarded to the Kentucky State Police lab for analysis.

Coleman was not injured in the crash.  She was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
