Car Accident Leads to Charges Against Two People

BENTON, KY - Two people face charges after a they were involved in a traffic accident Friday.
Marshall County Sheriff's Deputy Dennis Lewis responded to the scene on Highway 641, and noticed the vehicle's passenger pick up a bottle of medication and walk away from the accident scene. When 41-year-old Roger Miller of Murray was confronted about it, he pulled the bottle from his pocket and surrendered it. The driver of the vehicle, 36-year-old Melissa A. Galloway of Paducah, told Lewis that the bottle was hers and it contained Tramadol. Investigation proved that the bottle also contained Lortab and Soma pills.
Galloway was charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, and not having a controlled substance in the proper container. Miller was charged with tampering with physical evidence.
