A two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Carlisle County claimed the life of a Bardwell man.

According to the Carlisle County Sheriff's Department, a vehicle operated by 32-year-old Adam Garnett, of Bardwell, was westbound on US 62 when he attempted to stop for another vehicle that was waiting to turn onto KY 307. Garnett's vehicle slid sideways into the oncoming lane of US 62 and collided with a vehicle operated by 83-year-old Donald Johnson of Mayfield.

Garnett was pronounced dead at the scene by the Carlisle County Coroner.

Johnson, and his wife, 79-year-old Carol Johnson, were taken to Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital for treatment.

A third vehicle operated by 78-year-old Vida McClure, of Clinton, was not directly involved in the collision, but was damaged by debris from the collision.
