Carlisle Pair Face Drug, Other Charges After Chase

A high speed chase spanning two western Kentucky counties ended with two drug arrests Friday.

According to the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office, the pursuit started in Bardwell and continued onto Highway 51 North at speeds exceeding 110 mph. The pursuit ended just inside Ballard County.

During search of the vehicle, police found methamphetamine and other drugs, along with drug paraphernalia. The driver, Charles Duke and his passenger, Destiny Duke, both of Bardwell, were arrested and lodged in the Ballard County Detention Center.

The Dukes were charged with wanton endangerment, possession of controlled substance, fleeing or evading police, tampering with physical evidence, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphenalia. Destiny Duke was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from Hickman County.

Two children under the age of five found in the back seat of the vehicle were released to family members.
