Carp-Crete is actually a concrete which has as an ingredient, Asian carp fishmeal, as an admixture.

The idea for such a product came about as James Nobles, an Illinois civil engineer, was working on an idea to use waste products for an engineering project, while at the same time developing a product that would be more friendly to the environment.
The carp fishmeal is more friendly to the environment, compared with traditional admixture such as fly ash, which contains arsenic, lead, and mercury, which can be harmful to humans.

Lyon County Judge Executive Wade White, told West Kentucky Star, that he is extremely excited about the prospects of Carp-Crete.
White said that the new product shows signs of being stronger, and not being damaged as easily as traditional concrete products by weather elements. He also said, "if this product works, it's really going to increase the demand for the carp in all sizes. It doesn't have to be a large fish, it can be a small one, so that's one of the issues that we need is getting the smaller fish out as well. This increases the price maybe up to thirty cents per pound, that will be an incredible shot in the arm for our commercial fisherman, which is what we need."
The Carp-Crete was poured at Hu-B's Offshore Marine Sales, across from Venture River, in Eddyville. The public is invited to come and see the new product.
