The Cave-in-Rock Ferry has been closed due to high winds.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the ferry halted service about 10 a.m. Wednesday due to 20 mile per hour winds out of the west that created hazardous river conditions at the crossing.

If the ferry is unable to resume service Wednesday evening, normal operations will resume at 6 a.m. Thursday.

The ferry, which connects Kentucky 91 with Illinois Route 1 across the Ohio River between Crittenden County, KY, and Hardin County, IL normally operates from 6 a.m. to 9:50 p.m., 7 days a week.
