Cave-in-Rock Ferry Reopens

The Cave-In-Rock Ferry has reopened after winds died down Monday afternoon.



The ferry closed earlier because of strong winds of about 18 miles per hour, with forecasts calling for possible gusts between 19 to 25 miles per hour through much of the day.



The ferry connects Kentucky Hwy. 91 with Illinois Route 1 across the Ohio River between Crittenden County, KY, and Hardin County, IL.



The ferry normally operates from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, 7 days a week. The ferry carries about 500 vehicles across the Ohio River in an average day.
