Collision on Icy Roads Injures One Driver

One driver in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning near Benton was taken to a local hospital.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department responded to Benton-Birmingham Road at 7:44 am.  They report that 27-year-old Andrew Baker of Benton said he approached a curve and was unable to brake because of the icy roads. His vehicle struck the left front corner of 59-year-old Donald R. Newcomb's vehicle. 

Newcomb was taken to Marshall County Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
