The first case of COVID-19 has been diagnosed in Crittenden County.
Crittenden County Judge-Executive Perry Newcom spoke about the case in a Crittenden Press Facebook post Wednesday evening. Newcom said the individual is a 59-year-old female from Crittenden County, who is currently hospitalized.
Two additional people who are closely associated with the woman are currently quarantined. One of those individuals is showing symptoms and has been tested. The other individual is asymptomatic at this time, but is being quarantined out of caution.
The Pennyrile Health Department began conducting an investigation into the woman's close contacts on Wednesday afternoon.
On Wednesday evening, Crittenden Community Hospital said on Facebook that they have no COVID-19 patients in their facility.
