A Crofton babysitter was reportedly threatened Friday morning by an 8-year-old who took her car.

A Christian County Sheriff's Deputy told WKDZ they were called to McBride Lane to help the babysitter with a child who was out of control.

The child reportedly threatened the sitter with a kitchen knife, then took her car. Deputies say the boy was stopped when the vehicle became stuck in the mud.

WKDZ reported that the boy used obscene gestures towards deputies as they removed him from the car.

The boy was taken to Cumberland Hall in Hopkinsville, which treats people of all ages with emotional, psychiatric or addictive diseases.
